EVERYTHING HAS A BACKSTORY
In the Black community we have been known to use our mind, body and soul to convey what we’ve felt, which we then tend to turn to an outlet to express these experiences, all inspired by a moment in time.
BodyxSoul Art is a platform created to express emotion and celebrate all that has been birthed through circumstance and what has been felt through it all.
From film, music, literature, the clothing we wear, businesses started and all that is created in between, you can see how we are forever evolving as we continue to tell our stories and make sure that we are seen and heard from all aspects and all walks of life.
When we speak about art at BxS we're giving a nod to all that we've endured and drives us as a culture.
From our apparel, the recipes we pass down, business, media and everything in between, we've created our own lanes and pulled up a seat at our own tables.
We are Black history, Black Culture and our experiences inspire what we create through various platforms.

ABOUT THE CURATOR:
Dani G.
Artist x Black Culture Enthusiast
Harlem born and bred, Dani found her creative outlet among the things she experienced every day, which brought her to the place of conveying these emotions through her canvas based art pieces, which focuses on the light you can see and feel through the various body types, tones and textures of Black people. She then in turn created a platform which allows others to adorn this artwork as apparel, accessories and home décor. And having much more to say about and celebrate in the Black community, BodyxSoul Art’s site was born.
Dani pulls inspiration from the different people and places she encounters through her daily city lurks, and the many different activities her mother ensured she took part of beyond the pre-gentrified East and Central Harlem neighborhoods she was raised in, allowing her to see the many facets of what Black culture has and continues to bring to the table.
Lover of all things old school, she uses that as a tool to connect the dots between past and present, hoping to inspire others to see the beauty in what we’ve been through and how much farther we can go.
